Disappointment....

I have a business relationship with a gentleman who owns a marketing company. In the past he has told me that he works with different musicians on their tour promo stuff. He'd also told me that if I ever wanted tickets to a concert for one of the musicians he works with that I should simply let him know.

So, after several years of knowing him, I called in the favor. Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie were playing in Bloomington, IL. last night (10/8/10). He had mentioned his relationship with Alice Cooper many times and when I called him about this particular concert I was asked how many tickets and told it was a done deal...he'd send me the tickets and throw in 4 of the promo t-shirts that he does for the shows...HOW SWEET!

Last week I called, he said he'd have them in 2 days and would be sending them over to me....then he called me on Tuesday and said that he had shipped them out on Monday and they would arrive at my house on Tuesday morning by 10:30 a.m.

I left work at my normal 4:30 p.m. and drove home; excited to open the package containing my tickets...I ran into the house, dropped my purse, bag, and keys on the dining room table, yanked open the door to the enclosed front porch, unlocked the screen door leading to the steps ....NOTHING was there....

After this when I tried to call him on Wednesday and Thursday and even once on Friday morning I was sent to voice mail.

I also contacted UPS and Fed EX...neither had any history of a package being sent to me...that's nice!

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

I think it's pretty crummy to play with someone's hopes like that but, lesson learned. From now on, rely on no one for my entertainment and just buy my own damn tickets!

On a happier note: We will be going to see Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth next weekend in Milwaukee, Wi.  Our friend will be at the house watching the kids and so we will get a hotel room, and then drive to Madison, WI. when we wake up and have an early dinner with friends of ours whom we haven't seen in several years.
I'm very excited about that.

Beautiful weather this weekend. I am busy all day today but may go on a bike ride tomorrow morning.

Ride safe!
