Today the kids and I will be baking. Mainly, Chocolate chip & Peanut Butter cookies! YUMMY! No Christmas tree up yet, and I don't intend to put it up until December 3rd.
Nor do I intend to decorate for Christmas this weekend.
However, I am preparing the Christmas Cards to go out this week, along with perhaps a few pictures and a little note for all of our friends and family.
I also need to prepare the newsletter for my class!
Bob has labwork on the 3rd of December, and I need to get another 6 chemo caps finished before them so that I can take up 2 dozen. I've been slacking...
Actually, slacking isn't exactly the right verbage...I've been extremely busy at work (yes, I still LOVE my new job), I finished crocheting a present for someone near and dear to my heart, I have been working on lesson's for my class, faithfully hitting the gym, running the children back and forth to all of their things and just frankly haven't had a lot of sit down and do what I want time.
However, this is why the title to today's post is accurate...it's the season for busyness. For running around (as my mother used to say) like a chicken with it's head cut off (if you've ever seen this phenomena it's actually rather DISTURBING)...the problem with this time of year is that so often we forget what the entire point of the season is...LOVE!
In it's most basic breakdown that is what this season is about...
The christmas story is about God's love for human kind...and we need to remember to show that type of love to our fellow man. (if you're belief systems aren't the same as mine, you know what I'm saying here...there's still a lesson in it and that lesson is Love)!
Spend time with your families & Your FRIENDS (because let's face it folks...sometimes our friends know us better than our own families). Let them know how much they mean...It's a season for relaxing, enjoying each other's company, Making traditions, playing games, decorating, being silly and happy!
Side note: Alcohol around this time of year helps, especially when dealing with family :o)~ Joking!!!!
Anyway, just a reminder to not forget to breathe in all this holiday madness and shopping extravaganza.
My vow this year is to:
go sledding with the kids (making sure to bring inhalers for the ones with Asthma, as well as hot cocoa to warm them up)!
Take time to sit down and play lots of Uno, yatzee and all the other games that they love to play and that I often tell them to deal me out because I'm so insanely busy!
Remember to water the Christmas tree so it doesn't wither by the 20th of December!
Bake a lot and eat alot and not worry about the calorie count...
continue going to the gym during this season...that should help since I'm not going to worry about my calorie count! :o)~
This year we have so much to be thankful for....and to feel blessed about....(not that we haven't in the past but last year was a little shadowed to me)....
I have a husband (Soul mate) who is again cancer free!
I have 4 beautiful children, who have given me so many wonderful moments!
I have an adorable and sweet grandson! Who is a part of my life each and every day! Both he and my children remind me each day of the wonder around us if we just slow down and look!
I have friends who stand by my side regardless of how I'm behaving, feeling or needing! They are true friends who even if we don't talk for long periods of time still care!
I have 3 fat and lazy dogs who try to eat me out of house and home but who will protect us all with no thoughts to their own safety!
I have a wonderful new job that I am so thankful I took a chance on and so thankful for the people who gave me the encouragement to be free spirited enough to make the leap!
the list goes on and on....but those are up there at the top.
Friends: have a safe and blessed holiday season! God Bless!

You are so right... it is the season for so many wonderful things! My favorite thing is just being able to spend time with my family, which I don't get to do often enough.
I love to do the fun stuff, too, like make cookies and other treats.
I'm trying to make most of my gifts this year, but I should have planned it out a bit better and been a bit more diligent in sticking to a schedule! I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of late nights coming up in the next two weeks!
