End of the year...

That time has come again. I can't believe  another year is about to begin.

This year has brought me many experiences that have allowed me to learn and grow as an individual, a wife, a mother. I reflect on these experiences often.

I think the greatest lessons of 2011 for me were:

1. Even those we love hurt and disappoint us, it's up to us how we chose to deal with things.
2. Our dreams and hobbies are an amazing way to get to know ourselves (and those around us) on a deeper level. Just because we may not become rich, or famous doesn't mean  that our dedication to these things, or our passion to these things doesn't inspire others!
3. Sometimes we have to work hard to find it in ourselves to forgive others...in forgiving them we free our soul from so much baggage! Think of it as a gift to yourself to forgive others.
4. Hobbies and passions can turn into lucrative incomes if given the opportunity.
5. Pursue your hobbies with passion!
6. Being a mother and a wife may be considered by some a minimal thing, but remember, as such you are shaping the next generation. That is a pretty damn amazing thing.
7. Don't be so effin serious. When you die no one is going to remark about how great it was that you were always so serious!

With these realizations being smacked in my face repeatedly this year I have also considered my new year's resolutions:
1. I will pursue my hobbies with passion in 2012. Taking time for myself and even sharing those passions with others.
2. I will laugh more often and let the b.s. of life roll off me.
3. I will not feel guilty for spending a little money on my hobbies or on "pampering" myself sometimes.
4. I will take a vacation with my family...we haven't done that since the year before Bob was diagnosed with cancer.
5. I will do what I love and not worry if those around me don't like me...because I will be proud of who I am.
6. I will not look back on the past and worry, wonder, or consider it in a way that is detrimental to my well being.

Going now. Take care!

I like reading all the reflections for the year. I plan to do some of my hobbies a lot more this year...and to try to become more fit (and lose weight in the process).

Sally, I think it's fun reading what other people want in their year. My biggest thing this year I think is to simply enjoy life...I seem to have stopped being spontaneous and have become this very planned out person...I realize I had way more fun when I just woke up & decided to drive to Monicals or take a road trip to hit a cool park spur of he moment. I'm going to do more of that this year!
