Moving Day is Upon US

Well tomorrow is moving day! I am so excited! I have help for the move too. My 2 brothers, my brothers friend Bill and Bob will be doing the moving. I pick up the moving van at 8:00 a.m.

I'll be without the internet until I can get everything hooked up...which could take a few days as we will be trying to put the more important things together (beds).

Anyway, I'm hoping everything goes smoothly! Will update when I'm all moved in.

Today when I get off work I have to head home and PACK and finish cleaning the house.

Send lots of good wishes my way.

Also, I am giving my old road bike away to a guy who could really use it. His bike got stolen and it was his only mode of transportation other than relying on others or to get on the Huskie bus and then still having to walk to wherever he's going from the drop off point. I'm dropping it off to him in the morning before I go get the moving truck. In return he's helping us move :o)

That's it for now folks. Have a great 4th of July if I haven't managed to get back online before that!

MS TOUR DAY 2

The second day of the tour was much better than the first! It was 2 degrees warmer at the start of the ride than it had been the day before when we finished.
We rode the 75 mile route plus I had ridden to the ride, so altogether yesterday I rode just shy of 86 miles. Towards the end my knee was hurting, I was hot and tired, but it felt good to finish it!

Today my right knee is wrapped up...hurts like hell!

MS TOUR

2:06 P.M. ---Today at 6:00 A.M. Karen and I were at the starting line for the MS Bike Tour. It was raining and had been all night. We decided to do the shorter route today since it's supposed to be nice tomorrow. It poured on us and when we returned I didn't think it would be possible for me to warm back up. It was only 61 Degrees when I made it back to the house. A couple Semi's blew past us and almost knocked us off our bikes. So, today's mileage (I rode from NIU back to my house which added to my count) was 42.85 miles. Tomorrow we are riding 75 after meeting at NIU at 6:00 A.M.

I did find it humorous that a guy who we met up with at the rest stop (he blew past us around mile 21) was asking if anyone had a cigarrette. Sounds like my husband, can smoke like a chimney and still ride faster than me!

10 Days till we move

Today is the 20th of June, that means there are ten days until we move! I'm so excited to be moving...I just want to be out of this house and into the new one. I'm certain I don't even have enough furniture to fill the house, which is wonderful because right now I don't have enough room for my stuff.

Today is also 3 days until the MS Bike Tour. I'm trying to talk Karen into doing 100 miles the first day and then 75 the second, but I think she's not going to go for it and would prefer to do 75 miles each day. We'll see.

Thunderstorm

Rode to work today, as I have every day since the kids got out of school. Loving it! Upon leaving work today I headed into DeKalb and then back out to Sycamore, and got caught in what seemed to be a hellacious thunderstorm coming up. The wind was HOWLING through the area I was, so badly that a couple times the gusts almost knocked me off my bike, it got really dark and I thought I was about to get a downpour....there was a lot of thunder and some lightning that scared the bejeburs outta me!
Luckily on the path that comes almost right to my front door (which was the last 3 miles of my ride) I had the wind at my back and got up to above 32 MPH and got home just as the skies opened up for the first of what's been a couple of downpours this afternoon/evening.

Ms Bike ride is Saturday and Sunday, I'm hoping for nice weather...keep your fingers crossed!

I think I need to buy a waterproof bag for when I'm on the bike. Although zip lock bags for my phone and work clothes are working out okay for now.

Kids are mad that they can't go outside to play but thunder and lightening keep them in the house.

Race Track

Hubby and I went to the race track tonight to watch the super lates run 44 laps on the big track. It was a great time...although R. M. was his usual cry baby, dirty driving self! During a caution following a wreck he caused he was told 3 times to get to the back of the line...and all 3 times he ignored them...Everyone says it's R.M.'s track and apparently that's the case since they didn't bother to make him go to the back! What a jerk! He's the first one though if he's spun out by someone to stop and tell the track guys to make the other guy go to the back of the line....ugh!

Anyway, it was a good time. We had fun and got to spend time alone together!

Soft Top's for Jeeps

Took Gaven to his friends birthday party today. While we were driving there he tells me that his cousin (who is over today [My mom picked him up and lives in the same neighborhood]) is mad at him because he is going to the birthday party instead of staying to hang out with him.

Later I went back out to the jeep to drive to pick Gaven up from the party...only to realize that there is a big hole in the plastic part of the jeep soft top in the back. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I talk to my twins who tell me that my nephew was angry and was throwing rocks at my husbands jeep after we had taken Gaven to the party.

So now I'm looking at $400.00 to get another soft top because the whole thing needs to be replaced...I'm taking donations :)

I'm a little aggrivated....my nephew of course denies it all...but every time he's over I have to yell at him about throwing rocks, and he tends to try to break people's things when he's angry with someone....so it seems pretty probable to me.

That's my rant for the day!

Packing Sucks

So, we are moving...WOOHOO~! Found a huge house to rent, which is fine because who knows where we will go or what we will do in the future. There's always that plan in the back of our heads that we should move to the coast.

Anyway, while I am excited to be moving I am not excited to be packing, I despise that task. It seems like even though I have 20 boxes packed already (at least) I haven't even made a dent in the stuff I have. Could be because there are 6 of us but still...packing sucks!

Needing to pack is also cutting into my biking time which is getting on my nerves.

However, soon I will be moved, I will have lots of room in my new casa and I will have plenty of time to bike.
